A life without love is like a year without summer…
Well my wonderful readers, busy doesn’t even cover how we are right now! One beautiful wedding after another and some lovely bits and bobs thrown in including some pregnancy and couples shoots too! From now on we aren’t going to be blogging endless images from weddings as we have been, we are going to be giving out wonderful sneak peeks from all our shooting expeditions to give you all a taste of what we are up to so we can show you more!!
A life without love… I can’t imagine it… and I can’t imagine no summer… even though this year has given me a glimpse with its shocking weather! Every single wedding this year has blown me away, shown me how much people can be in love and what it means to them. I have been blessed with wonderful couples, and more to follow and I just wanted to say how grateful I am. Grateful for every single email or word of thanks I get from each person I come across whether it be a wedding or a shoot. One ‘thank you’ and you’ve made my day. Let alone when I hear ‘you were wonderful’ or ‘you made us feel so relaxed’, I mean wow how lucky can one girl be to hear such great things.
I wanted to share with you some images from a recent double family shoot, beautiful people, and I’m so glad to say I get to see them all again next year at Emma and Scott’s wedding!
If you are a fellow photographer reading this then I will share some wonderful advice I was told this week… “The only photographer you should compare yourself with, is the one you used to be”. Lets inspire and encourage friends xx

Bournemouth Family Photographers – CAKE SMASH!!!
This week we had the utmost pleasure of shooting the bubba of cuteness, Leon. Now Leon has a little story behind his name, with the coolest parents to name him after where they met – at a Kings Of Leon gig! Brilliant!
Now the extra special detail with this shoot is that it is our new style of shoot that we are offering to unsuspecting littluns… the CAKE SMASH! (I feel like I have to write it in capitals just to get across how awesome it is haha!) It’s so simple – its the best way of doing something a little different for a portrait shoot and it’s letting kids be kids and getting completely messy and covered in food! How amazing would shots like those below look on a big canvas in the lounge rather than an old-shool posed picture in a white studio!?
So the key detail with these shoots is that we need an endless supply of babywipes! Yes it’s messy but look how amazing the results are! It’s so much fun for the kids and the parents alike to watch! Leon had a whale of a time with his chocolate cake, and you could bring any colour cake you want as long as its got lots of icing and cream, the messier littlun can get the better!
We don’t do this very often but for bookings made before June 4th, we are offering all cake smash shoots at 15% off both the session fee and the collections!! Pre-Wedding Shoots – Bournemouth Wedding Photographers
We come to you direct from the other side of the world! I, Sam, am currently in sunny Brisbane, Australia and loving every second hanging out with some incredibly talented photographers. Lots of weddings to shoot with old friends and new and lots of unique experience and creativity are on their way – its so exciting!
I thought I’d showcase some of the amazing pre-wedding shoots that we have been shooting over the last few months before Bournemouth wedding season begins. We have such beautiful couples this year, and we have had so much fun getting to know them more and getting some great shots!
A pre-wedding (or engagement) shoot is a great chance for you as a couple to get to know the way I shoot and see just how easy it is being in front of the camera. We take a nice chilled out walk in jeans and comfy shoes and have a bit of a giggle getting great pictures – its just so easy to photograph couples in love! We often get our couples asking to bring their children to get some family photographs too – no problem – we love shooting anyone and everyone so getting unique shots of the family is our pleasure!
Lastly… we have a new website on the way! We also have new pricing structures on the way for portraits and weddings so keep your eyes peeled my friends, keep ‘em peeled!!
Bournemouth Baby Photography – Amelia
With this post we welcome the beautiful baby Amelia (or Millie Moo as she is affectionately being called!) into the world. What a gorgeous little lady, so much character at such a young age with the most adorable little face! We loved our shoot and love how comfy she looks just chillin in a basket! Baby and newborn photography is now available at Samantha Davis Photography and we are delighted to be able to come to your own home to capture little one in their most comfortable environment. Thank you to Amelia for being so cute (practically edible!) and we look forward to the next shoot when you’re a little bigger! Xx
Hampshire Wedding Photography – Candice and Dave
We at Samantha Davis Photography don’t mind a bit of love. We love a bit of love. And we love love loved this wedding of Candice and Dave. A day full to the brim of laughter, joy and of course – love. I met Candice a long time ago now it seems and I knew this was a woman who knew what she wanted and it was going to be a special day. It must be in her African blood! That confidence was showing all through our couple session, and we got some cracking photos! In fact this was one of the hardest blog posts to organise and narrow down!
Candice and Dave were married at St Saviours Church in Brockenhurst and then went on to a fab reception at the beautiful Elmers Court Country Club in Lymington, Hampshire. We also sneaked in a few gorgeous locations for the couple shots – we do love the British countryside for making itself so pretty for us!
Quite simply we think the images show not only a great day but a great couple who are very much devoted to each other and their beautiful little girl Imogen. Such a personalised wedding, from having a grandmothers broach on the bouquet to making sure Dave’s dad and four uncles had a picture to look back on for years to come (even if it down look like he’s about to be thrown into the fountain!!) This wedding was a pleasure to photograph. Hello to all extended family that couldn’t make it from Namibia and we hope this gives you all a taster of the fab day… x
Bournemouth Family Photography – Mechelle and Rob
We had a BALL this week shooting at the gorgeous Sandbanks beach in Dorset with Mechelle and Rob, whose wedding we are covering in the not too distant future! Little man Callum is the most charismatic 6 year old I’ve met!! Beautiful Nieve was an angel sleeping the whole way through the photo fun and fun it most certainly was! Bubbles, the seaside and a football can surely only mean big smiles and we got some cracking shots for our lovely family.
